"When faced with the problem of my standard S55 turbos leaking oil I had two choices; either switch to hybrid turbos for more power or go for costly BMW replacements.

I didn't really want any more power or the added lag a bigger turbo brings, and didn't fancy paying BMWs prices. This is why we developed these direct replacement OEM+ turbos. They drop right in with no need to re-tune the car, and being built with higher quality components mean they're much more suited to the higher boost requests of a tuned car."

One of the common problems we are starting to see as the twin turbo S55 found in the F8x M2C/M3/M4 gets a little older is the turbos starting to fail.


This starts as the oil seals failing meaning increased oil consumption, smoke from the exhaust and needing to top up the engine oil in as little as 500-1000 miles.


As these oil seals start to fail we see increased wear on the bearings, this results in increased play in the compressor/turbine wheel shaft. If this wear becomes excessing the wheels can start to make contact with the turbo housing and in the worst instance can lead to total turbo failure and potential for your engine to ingest fragments of failed turbo.

We can offer a variety of Hybrid turbo options that will make more power, but for many the OEM units already produce enough power. We wanted to develop an OEM+ turbo that will replace your failed BMW turbos and is rebuilt to our own higher specification ensuring improved reliability and longevity.
